Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17
The Holy Spirit Lives in Me
The Holy Spirit Lives in Me
By Treva Susuras
Have you heard people say, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world?” Well, I can tell you now that he that’s in the world is the enemy to God. He is the devil.
The devil was an angel of Gods. He was a beautiful angel named Lucifer who was in charge of the praise and worship of God until he defied God and fell from grace, according to Isaiah.
Ezekiel states that Satan was the anointed cherub. He was adorned with precious jewels. Ezekiel 28 says he was likely the highest of all angels, until he decided he was as good as God and wanted to be God. At that time God cast him to the earth. Now he roams around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
1 Peter 5:8.
OK, now let’s talk about what is the most important… He that is in me. That would be the Holy Spirit. You might say,” you mean the Holy Spirit lives in me?”
Yep, He does according to John 15:15-31
When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior the Spirit of God comes to live in you. You have the same Power as Jesus. So, when the world gives you trouble, know that you have the power of the Holy spirit inside of you.
Satan’s job is to destroy God’s people. He
is an enemy to God. So, he will constantly bring trials and tribulation. The last thing Satan wants you to do is to turn to God he will try and stop you. He will attack you, your spouse, your children, your grandchildren, your marriage, your finances, and other loved ones. You get the picture, I’m sure. No one is safe from the attacks of the enemy. Jesus is the only way to protect ourselves from Satan. We are stronger than Satan because Jesus lives in us through the Holy Spirit. It’s not our strength that sets us free form Satan’s tactics. It’s the power of the Holy Spirit. We can fight and we can win, but we must go to Jesus in prayer and depend on the power of the Holy Spirit, and not our own.
Also, the Holy Spirit is there to guide us, to give us wisdom.
Let me share a short story for an example…
One time I was going to the mountains of Colorado to see my mom. She lived up there. I did not know her address and was not sure where she lived, but I knew I could find her because I asked the Holy Spirit to lead me. We didn’t have mobile phones back then (olden days) My friend Kathy was with me and she was a Christian also. She asked me where my mom lived and I said I don’t know I just know what town. I’ll find her when we get there. She was a little worried and said how do you plan on doing that? Not sure yet, I’ll ask the Holy Spirit to help me. Of course, she was thinking wow, this chick is a little out there. I could tell by the way she looked at me. Well, we got to the town, Parachute Colorado, pulled into town, by then it was time for the kids to get out of school, I looked over and low and behold, my nephew was just crossing the street, I yelled out "Chris!" He ran to my car and I said, can you take me to Grammie’s house, He said sure. Boom, the Holy Spirit worked it out. Because I had blind faith. The Holy Spirit is always with you, He never leaves you. If you don’t know about Him its hard for Him to help you. He fights our battles for us. We are strong, not because our flesh is strong but because the Holy Spirit lives in us and it is His strength we depend on now. Not our own. I know some reading this will think I’m out there but I really don’t care, you can’t tell me it’s not real because I have lived the last 35+ years walking and believing in this. It has been proven over and over in my life the power of the Holy Spirit.
In the mornings, during prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you through the day. He will. If you are feeling weak, ask the Holy Spirit for strength, He will give it to you, if you are confused, ask Him for wisdom. I am not saying to pray to the Holy Spirit, I’m saying talk to him. Feed Him the word of God. He will get stronger and stronger. If you would like to know more about this please let us know. We will be glad to get back to you.
Remember, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength…
Philippians 4:13
According to Romans 5:5 God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given us. He changes us, and He teaches us.
It’s not by my own strength but by the spirit says the Lord…
